🎖️ What Paychecks for Patriots Is

Paychecks for Patriots is an annual round of job and resource fairs the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development runs through its American Job Centers ahead of Veterans Day. This year all six Tennessee sites run the same Tuesday, from Memphis and Clarksville to Chattanooga, Knoxville and Johnson City. Davidson County's stop is the Nolensville Pike church in south Nashville, the same venue it used last fall.

The state describes the day as a chance to meet employers, learn about career paths and benefits, and connect with community services. Speaking to NewsChannel 5 at last year's fairs, Daniel Noffsinger, who helps lead the state's Jobs for Veterans program, put the pitch to employers simply: work ethic, timeliness and teamwork are "baked within" military training.

The state has not published an employer roster for the Nashville fair, and it has not said how many companies are coming. Last year's statewide listing named Tennessee state government agencies and veteran-owned companies among the participants. That is prior-year history, not a promise for October 13.
