NASHVILLE, TN — The Music City job market is still tight enough that employers are coming to job seekers instead of waiting on applications. Fifteen in-person hiring events are on the Middle Tennessee fall calendar, running into early December, and they stretch from a church on Nolensville Pike to a career center off Providence West Parkway in Mt. Juliet.

Fifteen verified hiring events between September 15 and December 8, spread across Davidson, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson counties; six have already taken place. Most of the rest want you to call ahead.

Why Fall Is a Good Window in Nashville

Federal figures back up what hiring managers here have been saying all year. The Bureau of Labor Statistics put the Nashville metro unemployment rate at 3.0 percent in July 2026, below the 3.3 percent national mark, with total nonfarm employment near 1.2 million and up about 1.6 percent over the year. The growth is not evenly spread. Leisure and hospitality led all sectors, education and health services and professional and business services both posted solid gains, and manufacturing added jobs. Construction, financial activities and government all lost ground over the same twelve months.

Read that as a map. If you are aiming at hotels, restaurants, hospitals, clinics, plants or back-office work, the wind is behind you this fall. If you are coming out of a construction trailer or a bank branch, expect to work harder for the same interview, and expect these events to be worth the drive.

Mt. Juliet Goodwill Job Fair — Tuesday, September 15

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Mt. Juliet Goodwill Career Solutions, 1985 Providence West Parkway, Mt. Juliet

The first one up, and the easiest to reach if you live anywhere along the I-40 corridor east of Donelson. Goodwill Middle Tennessee runs this Providence-area career center as a monthly stop on its hiring-fair circuit, and the two-hour window is short, so treat the 10:00 AM start as the real start. Goodwill has not published an employer roster for this date. Call the center at (615) 288-2389 before you drive out.

Metro Nashville All-Agency Career Fair — Thursday, September 24

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Southeast Regional Community Center, 5260 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Suite 202, Antioch

This event has passed.

This is the biggest event on the fall calendar and the only one with a published agency list. Metro Nashville is bringing twenty departments to the old Hickory Hollow site in Antioch, including the Police Department, the Fire Department, Metro Nashville Public Schools, the Airport Authority, Metro Water Services and Metro Parks. Metro says the fair is open to the public. Government hiring in the metro has been shrinking year over year, which makes a room with twenty agencies in it more valuable, not less. Job seekers can also apply directly through Metro Human Resources.

Mill Creek Job Fair, Brentwood — Tuesday, September 29

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Mill Creek Career Solutions, 6708 Nolensville Pike, Brentwood

Four hours, the longest window of any Goodwill event this fall, and Goodwill says more than ten employers will be in the room. The Nolensville Pike corridor south of Old Hickory Boulevard pulls from both sides of the Davidson and Williamson county line, so this one tends to draw retail, warehouse, staffing and customer-service recruiters. Recent Goodwill fairs elsewhere in Middle Tennessee have brought in employers like Kroger, Fifth Third Bank and CoreCivic along with staffing agencies. That is prior-event history, not a promise for September 29.

MNPS Talent Tuesday — Tuesday, October 6

9:30 AM – 12:30 PM | MNPS Board Room, Metro Schools Support Hub, 2601 Bransford Avenue, Nashville

Metro Nashville Public Schools' Talent Acquisition team holds in-person recruiting sessions on the first and third Tuesday of every month at its Support Hub, just off I-65 near Berry Hill. Recruiters walk through open teaching, substitute, bus driver, nutrition, custodial and support jobs and help with the district's online application, so you do not need a teaching license to have a reason to go. Goodwill Opportunity Center Job Fair — Tuesday, October 13

This event has passed.

The Opportunity Center sits in MetroCenter, just north of downtown, and it is the flagship of Goodwill's Nashville operation. Ten-plus employers again, and an early 9:00 AM start. Here is a useful piece of scheduling: the same Tuesday, the Mt. Juliet center runs a resume writing class from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and mock interviews from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. If the morning goes badly, the afternoon fix is thirty minutes east on I-40.

Paychecks for Patriots Job and Resource Fair — Tuesday, October 13

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 5891 Nolensville Pike, Nashville

This event has passed.

The state's annual veterans fair, run by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development through its American Job Centers, with all six Tennessee sites running the same day. It is built around veterans, service members and military families, but the state lists it as open to the public, with full-time, part-time and internship openings and community resources in the same room. No employer roster has been published, and the state's listing mentions no registration requirement. It shares a Tuesday with the Opportunity Center fair in MetroCenter: different event, different side of town, different rules. → See details

Mt. Juliet Goodwill Job Fair — Tuesday, October 20

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Mt. Juliet Goodwill Career Solutions, 1985 Providence West Parkway, Mt. Juliet

October's Wilson County stop, one week after the MetroCenter fair. Wilson County has absorbed a lot of distribution and light-manufacturing growth over the last few years, and the Mt. Juliet center is the closest public hiring venue to most of it. Two hours, pre-registration expected, same phone number as September.

MNPS Talent Tuesday — Tuesday, October 20

9:30 AM – 12:30 PM | MNPS Board Room, Metro Schools Support Hub, 2601 Bransford Avenue, Nashville

The district's second October session, same room and same hours as October 6. It shares a morning with the Mt. Juliet Goodwill fair, so pick by the job you want: school work on Bransford Avenue, or the warehouse, retail and staffing recruiters out in Wilson County. Teaching, substitute, transportation, nutrition and custodial roles are all on the table, and recruiters can help you finish the online application on the spot. → See details

Sumner County Job Fair in Gallatin — Tuesday, October 20

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | American Job Center Sumner County, 1598 Greenlea Blvd., Gallatin

The only stop on this calendar in Sumner County. The state's American Job Center in Gallatin is hosting a two-hour job fair the same morning as the Mt. Juliet Goodwill fair and MNPS Talent Tuesday, which makes it the easy pick for anyone in Hendersonville, Gallatin or the rest of Sumner County. The state's hiring events page hasn't posted an employer list. It asks you to bring two forms of ID and copies of your resume, and to dress professionally. Call the center at (615) 451-5800 for the employer list before you drive over.

Macy's Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

Times vary by store | Macy's Green Hills, 3813 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, and Macy's Cool Springs, 1790 Galleria Blvd, Franklin

Macy's national holiday hiring day reaches both Middle Tennessee stores, at The Mall at Green Hills and CoolSprings Galleria. It's walk-in hiring for seasonal part-time store jobs, with no registration, though applying online first at macysJOBS saves time at the store. Macy's hasn't published a Nashville headcount or a single pay rate, and hours differ by location, so call Green Hills at (615) 383-3300 or Cool Springs at (615) 771-2100 before you go. Gaylord Opryland Holiday Hiring Open House — Saturday, October 24

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Star Services Center, Gaylord Opryland Resort campus, Nashville

The only weekend event left on the fall calendar. Gaylord Opryland is staffing up for the holiday season, and its hiring page lists seven guest-facing roles for the open house: special events attendant, Delta Riverboat attendant, food runner, busser, barista, cashier and host/hostess. The November MetroCenter fair lands right as seasonal hiring peaks across Nashville retail, hospitality and package handling. Nashville Law Enforcement Hiring Expo — Friday, November 13

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville North Skyline, 3451 Dickerson Pike, Nashville

A law-enforcement-only hiring floor from Reliant Hiring, which runs the same format in cities across the country. Agencies recruit for sworn officers and for civilian support staff, so you do not need to want a badge to have a reason to go. Mt. Juliet Goodwill Job Fair — Tuesday, November 17

The last fair before Thanksgiving, and the last realistic shot at a seasonal role that starts before the holiday rush rather than after it. Employers filling November and December shifts are usually still interviewing the week of the 17th, but not much past it.

Goodwill Opportunity Center Job Fair — Tuesday, December 8

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Goodwill Opportunity Center, 501 Mainstream Drive, Nashville

Technically the tail end of fall, and worth knowing about now because December fairs are quieter and the ratio of recruiters to job seekers is usually better. Employers hiring in December are frequently filling January start dates, which is a different and often better conversation than a seasonal one.

  • You want holiday retail work: Macy's walk-in hiring day on October 22 at Green Hills or Cool Springs.
  • You want holiday hospitality work, or can only make a Saturday: Gaylord Opryland's open house on October 24.
  • You want a public safety career, sworn or civilian: the Law Enforcement Hiring Expo on November 13 on Dickerson Pike.
  • You live in Sumner County: the Gallatin job fair on October 20 on Greenlea Boulevard. Call ahead for the employer list.
  • You live in Wilson County or east Davidson: Mt. Juliet on October 20 or November 17. Providence West Parkway is minutes off I-40.
  • You need the most employers in one room: the Opportunity Center on November 10, where Goodwill advertises more than ten employers, or its December 8 fair.
  • You are downtown, on the bus, or north of the river: the Opportunity Center on Mainstream Drive, November 10 or December 8.
  • You want seasonal work that could convert to permanent: November 10, then November 17 as a backup.
  • Your resume is the problem, not the market: book the November 10 resume class and mock interview session in Mt. Juliet.

What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Ten to fifteen printed resumes. Recruiters still take paper.
  • A photo ID, and your work authorization documents if you have them handy.
  • A short list of your last three employers with real dates and supervisor names.
  • Your phone charged, because most Middle Tennessee employers will hand you a QR code and ask you to apply on the spot.
  • Clothes one notch above what the job requires. A clean polo beats a wrinkled suit.
  • The center's phone number saved, in case the date moves.

Goodwill describes its Career Solutions services as free to job seekers, but no admission price is published for the Goodwill fairs. Confirm when you call to register.

Which event has the most employers?

The largest published roster this fall belonged to the Metro Nashville All-Agency Career Fair on September 24, which has now taken place. Of the events still ahead, Goodwill advertises more than ten employers for the November 10 Opportunity Center fair. The November 13 law enforcement expo hasn't published an agency roster yet.

Can I get hired on the spot in Nashville?

Sometimes, but plan for a two-step process. Most Middle Tennessee employers at these events do a short screening conversation, then send you to an online application the same day. Bring your work history written down so you can fill that application out in the parking lot instead of a week later.
