What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holidays

Macy's, Inc. laid out its plans in a holiday hiring announcement. The company is filling seasonal store and supply chain jobs and holding in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19, with interviews and offers possible on the spot. Store roles are part-time, and Macy's says event times vary from store to store.

Here's the honest picture. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its stores this year, and Nashville isn't one of them. The hiring day still runs at stores nationwide, both Middle Tennessee locations included, but Macy's hasn't published a headcount for either. Treat October 22 as a real shot at a holiday job, not a guaranteed offer.

There's no single pay rate, either. Macy's says each posting lists its own pay range, so read the number before you apply. The announcement also names a colleague discount, a 401(k), medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility, and access to earned wages before payday.

🗺️ Green Hills or Cool Springs: Pick Your Store

Green Hills. The Macy's at The Mall at Green Hills sits on Hillsboro Pike just south of I-440. It's the easy choice for Belmont, 12 South, Sylvan Park, Forest Hills and anyone coming in from Oak Hill or Brentwood's north end.

Cool Springs. The Franklin store anchors CoolSprings Galleria off I-65 at Moores Lane. It works for Franklin, Brentwood, Nolensville, Spring Hill and the rest of Williamson County, and it saves a trip up the interstate if you live south of the county line.

Different Day, Different Event: More Holiday Hiring This Month

Want a holiday job in hospitality instead of retail? Two days later, on Saturday, October 24, Gaylord Opryland holds its own holiday hiring open house. Different employer, different day, different requirements. Our Nashville fall job fairs guide has the rest of the season, including Goodwill job fairs into December.

📋 How to Show Up Ready on Oct. 22

Call your store first. Hours vary by location, and Green Hills and Cool Springs may not match.
Apply online before you go. An application already in the system saves time at the store.
Bring photo ID. If you're hired, you'll fill out work-authorization paperwork.
Know your real availability. Evenings, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
